Hot Work Steel

Hot Work Steel is an alloy steel that is used specifically for manufacturing and working in high-temperature conditions. These include forming goods made of aluminium, steel, or other metals. The most common applications are die casting, extrusion, and forgings.

The types of alloy steel for Hot Work tools are: 

  1. THSS2344(0.40C-1.00Si-5.30Cr-1.40Mo-1.00V)

  2. TRSS2367(0.37C-5.00Cr-3.00Mo-0.60V)

The characteristics of special steels for tooling Hot Work Steel include:

  1. High resistance to checking.

  2. Good strength at high temperatures.

  3. Resistance to crack and propagation of cracks.
